Reports To: Director of Membership, with a dotted line to the Managing Director

Direct Reports: Senior Membership Development & Membership Development team

Welcome to The Ned NoMad, a sophisticated members' club and hotel nestled in the heart of New York City. As the first international outpost of The Ned, we proudly opened our doors in Summer 2022, following the iconic debut of The Ned London in 2017.

The Property…
Set in the historic Johnston Building, formerly the NoMad Hotel, our property boasts a rich legacy dating back to 1903. With design expertise from the Soho House Design team, we've lovingly preserved the building's original charm while infusing it with a fresh, contemporary style.

At The Ned NoMad, we offer an eclectic mix of exclusive and public spaces, including 167 elegantly appointed bedrooms and suites, a lively rooftop bar and terrace restaurant, a first-floor bar, grill, and lounge, and nightly live entertainment at The Atrium Stage. Our public dining options include Cecconi’s, a modern-day classic Italian restaurant inspired by mid-century Trattorias, and Little Ned, a chic spot for handcrafted cocktails and bar classics with views of the Empire State Building.

The Role…
The Head of Membership Development at Ned’s Club Nomad will be responsible for driving membership growth through strategic sales initiatives. This role is focused on attracting high-quality members, developing innovative outreach strategies, and achieving ambitious membership sales targets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales and strategy within luxury, hospitality, or exclusive membership environments, coupled with a proven ability to meet and exceed sales goals.

Key Responsibilities… 
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive membership sales strategy to drive enrollment and achieve set membership targets.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential member segments and growth opportunities within the luxury membership sector.
  • Create and execute targeted sales initiatives, including outreach to industry-specific networks, to increase membership enrollment.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote membership offerings through tailored campaigns designed to attract prospective members.
  • Lead and manage the membership development team, setting clear goals and performance metrics to drive membership acquisition.
  • Provide training and support to team members to ensure high-quality sales interactions and consistent messaging aligned with the club's brand.
  • Foster a performance-driven culture within the team, focused on exceeding membership sales targets.
  • Track membership sales metrics and prepare regular reports for senior management, detailing sales performance, market trends, and growth forecasts.
  • Analyze data to continuously refine sales strategies, adjusting outreach and acquisition tactics based on feedback and performance metrics.
  • Stay informed about competitor offerings and market conditions to ensure Ned’s Club Nomad remains competitive in the luxury membership sector.
  • Analyze in-house data to convert existing nonmembers (Daypass, guests of members, etc.)
  • Actively engage in networking opportunities, representing Ned’s Club Nomad at industry events, conferences, and relevant gatherings to promote membership sales.
  • Develop relationships with local businesses, organizations, and influencers to create lead generation channels that support membership growth.
Preferred Qualifications… 
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Hospitality, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sales, membership development, or business development within luxury or hospitality settings.
  • Proven track record of meetings and exceeding membership or sales targets.
  • Exceptional ability to drive sales growth through persuasive communication, strong relationship-building, and a customer-focused approach. 
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer service orientation.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing sales team.
  • Ability to analyze data and market trends to make informed, strategic sales decisions.
  • Passion for building connections and achieving results in a competitive market.

Compensation: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
